That’s why I have subscribed to this blog, You ( Haimona) seem to nearly always speak what a lot of us think. Seems we are all getting a tad p****d of being fed a load of peripheral bs from those people with so called influence as described in this blog who really should know and try to do better.

Thanks Haimona. Agree with you and other commentators that need both more critically incisive and more thoughtful discussion in our media. Also why I have subscribed to your substack!

"Is the purpose of our national political discourse to solve real issues or create new facile ‘problems’ and make people's lives actively worse?" We have little or no true political discourse in either print or digital media. I've got to the stage of leaving the room when TV commentators Jenna Lynch, Tova O'Brien and (to a lesser extent) Maiki Shearman are wheeled on because their inability to actually report neutrally on anything the coalition does is so coloured by their obvious bias. Choice of language, intonation, body language all indicate their adherence to the current critical theory slanted model of journalism. There's NEVER any acknowledgement of the positive. We can analyse until we're blue in the face the whys and hows of things getting to this pass, but like you, "I haven't heard a solution in over a decade. No change of politicians or broadcasters will save us."
